Sometimes, living with in a family can be difficult. Everyone has their own opinions, issues arise, and life gets busy. For us, one of the best tonics to our difficulties has been regular family meetings. We began holding them when our kids were five and seven. We try to have them every few weeks, and it always makes a difference. We negotiate chores, discuss curfews, celebrate what is working, and develop a deeper appreciation for each person.
In this video, I talk about the three parts to an effective family meeting and tips for making them successful. It doesn’t have to take a lot of time, but it is well worth it. And the results include resolved issues, better communication, and a closer family bond.
